HELP CENTER
Established in 1995, the Foundation’s Help Center is an outreach program that offers free resources to individuals seeking information about angiogenesis-related treatment options. Supported by a professional staff and the world’s largest database on angiogenesis, called AngioTracker, our Help Center empowers patients and their advocates with accurate and up-to-date information about new treatments for cancer and other angiogenesis-dependent diseases. This includes approved therapies, investigational drugs — for which there are now more than 1,800 clinical trials, and other medications that have angiogenesis modifying properties. We also provide information about dietary and lifestyle modifications that can impact angiogenesis and overall health. The Help Center arms patients with accurate, practical information they can discuss with their own doctors.

We have provided these services to more than 10,000 patients from 30 countries through a call center, fax, email, and the Internet. For more information, contact the Help Center.

CLINICAL TRIAL OUTREACH PROGRAM
Our Clinical Trial Outreach Program is a special extension of the Help Center that specifically directs patients to clinical trials. Access to clinical trials is especially critical for people who may have failed to receive benefit from conventional therapies or who have been deemed to have ‘no options’ by their regular physician. We believe these are individuals who may benefit from new experimental treatments.

Our Clinical Trials Outreach helps patients gain access to these treatments by tapping into our network of 40,000 physicians around the country who practice in communities surrounding clinical trial sites:

  • We inform them about new opportunities to refer their patients into promising clinical trials.
  • We help physicians interpret the data supporting these trials, and specifically identify those who are interested in the trials and willing to refer patients to the trials.
  • We guide them in pre-screening their patients according to the eligibility requirements of each study.
  • We connect the physician with clinical trial coordinators located at study sites near the physicians' practice.
Our Clinical Trial Outreach program provides patients with new treatment options, while simultaneously increasing awareness and knowledge of physicians about experimental agents, and helps to speed progress toward new breakthroughs in the field. Some of the major clinical trials for which we have conducted Outreach include: ESCAPE (lung cancer), ASSURE (E2805, kidney cancer), E2603 (melanoma), CONFIRM 1 (colon cancer), CONFIRM 2 (colon cancer), AE-941 (lung cancer), TALISMAN (critical limb ischemia), and ACT34-CMI (chronic myocardial ischemia).
