The Angiogenesis Foundation convened an expert panel for clinical trials of antiangiogenic therapy in cancer in June 2001, in San Francisco, California. The charge of the panel was to review the data from clinical trials of antiangiogenic therapy in cancer and to make recommendations for improving trial design and for optimizing trial outcomes. The deliberations of this panel led to clinical trial design refinements used for cancer drug development to this day.
